GOALS and Teamov Announce Partnership to Launch Coed Basketball Leagues in Armenia and Artsakh

Yerevan, Armenia - GOALS and Teamov have joined forces to bring basketball as a sport for social impact to Armenia and Artsakh, marking a significant step towards promoting sports as a tool for social change. The two organizations are set to launch coed basketball leagues and activities in the Shirak and Armavir regions, with plans to expand throughout the country.

What sets this partnership apart is that the coed basketball leagues will be the first of their kind in Armenia, promoting gender equality and providing young women with the chance to participate in a traditionally male-dominated sport. The leagues and activities will be open to all young people, regardless of their background or experience level, and will focus on building skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

The coed basketball leagues will launch later this year in the Shirak and Armavir regions, and GOALS and Teamov have ambitious plans to extend their reach across Armenia and Artsakh in the coming years. This partnership reflects the organizations' commitment to providing young people with the opportunity to participate in sports and gain important life skills such as leadership, self-confidence, and teamwork.

"We are thrilled to partner with Teamov to bring basketball to Armenia and Artsakh," said Teny Avakian, Executive Director of GOALS. "This partnership enables us to achieve our goal of providing the opportunity to participate in sports and to make a positive impact in our communities."

This exciting new partnership is a game-changer for young people in Armenia and Artsakh, providing them with the opportunity to develop valuable skills and benefit from the many benefits that sports can bring.
